food: 4/5 experience: 4/5 overall: 4/5 Holy shit man I cannot handle this restaurant. The bread is too damn good! If you're after bread on the wharf seriously look no further, this is the spot. I get fat off this stuff. It's French bread, as opposed to the typical sourdough you'll find on the wharf. So much better. Dusted with flour on top. Love when they do that. Oh right, so they also serve actual food here. First, they have scallops. Um, obviously I went for these before anything else. Scallops are always good but holy shit they were just swimming in butter. They were sautéed I guess is why? I think I'm the only person in America that doesn't like butter all over everything. That part was nasty. Comes with a baked potato because I totally need more carbs after all that bread. Pizza Rock serves up pizza with a dose of Foo Fighters and their menu, well, rocks! And yes, it can get a little loud in here. With locations in Vegas and Sacramento (for some reason), Pizza Rock sells several award-winning pizzas (literally, they've won awards) as well as a bunch of other pizzas and cool stuff to eat and drink with said pizza. Here's a Pizza Rock hack: if you want plain cheese pizza, order the breadsticks for eight bucks. They're pizza crust covered in cheese cut into strips. See? It's delicious pizza in disguise. 5/5 for the best breadsticks-that-are-secretly-pizza ever. Another hack: follow them on social media for free meatballs. food: 4/5 experience: 3.5/5 overall: 4/5 King's Fish House is a pretty decent-sized chain in Southern California with eleven locations, with two of those in Arizona and Las Vegas. According to their sign they've been around for like sixty years or something. Must be pretty good. Figured I'd give it a try since there's one in my former neighborhood. My first visit here was with a blind date which actually went really well. Outdoor seating due to COVID makes it hard to hear. Oh well. The food was good. Mostly. Except when they got my order abominably wrong and served me corn when I explicitly said I was allergic (I ordered zucchini and asparagus...those don't even sound like corn). So I had to wait for my whole dish to be remade. But I digress. Let's start with the appetizers. The waiter recommended the crab cakes first so we got the crab cakes. A little pricey for only two but this is definitely real crab in here. Very delish and flavorful, served nice and crisp

One is Charlie's Gyros , which has a limited menu and is more fast-food-y; and the other is Coach's, which is right next door - a full-service sit-down restaurant. And their menu is quite extensive, believe me. It took me quite a while to work my way through it. Let's start with the appetizers. And there's a helluva lot of cheese, be forewarned. Gyro quesadilla! Why didn't anyone else think of this? A flour tortilla with mozzarella and perfectly seasoned gyros, nice and tender and they didn't slack on them either. There's gyros aplenty in here. A very hearty meal. If you're not familiar with gyros, they're a mix of beef and lamb meat and they're spectacular. This is not fondue, but it is close. Saganaki. A melted cheese, very hot, with a delicious crust on the bottom. Eat that first. It's nice and burnt. And do what I
