California Livin' Series: World of Coca-Cola (Downtown Atlanta)

Image
From California back to Georgia! You may remember my Walking Dead post from Atlanta. This week we're going to discover the wonderful world of Coca-Cola. Yeah this is like a must-visit if you come to Atlanta I guess. It's pretty expensive to get in so it's kinda  not worth it? Sorry, I know most of these posts are meant to be positive but I'll just summarize my experience for ya in case you wanna skip it. Some facts: the keeper of the original recipe was elected mayor and now only two people know the secret. No one knows who they are, they can't travel together, and each of them know only half the formula. The whole theme of the museum is "ooooh the secret formula", basically. A bunch of kids are always there and they kinda ruin it because they hog all the cool games. Adults play games too, ya know. You can watch the assembly line fill actual bottles to be sold. Lots of photo ops including this comfy living room setting... ...

California Livin' Series: Joystick Gamebar (Atlanta)

Insert DJ Khaled voice: "Another one!" Okay never mind, I don't want that fool stuck in my head. Here are all the previous ones in this ongoing series that is California Livin'. I couldn't visit Atlanta without trying some of the nightlife. I'm not a big nightlife person myself. I don't dance unless I'm drunk, and I don't drink unless I'm in a crazy mood already. Neither of those happened on this particular occasion. My one Atlantan friend is an introvert so he too likes his space. He's the sit-at-the-bar-alone-and-brood type. No ribbing, he's said this himself. Which is cool with me because I have a bit of an antisocial streak. Anyway, we ended up at Joystick because there's actual fun stuff to do there besides "socialize" and "get wasted" and "do lines off the toilet seat." So there's that. Cool cool. Arcade games and board games and other stuff. They have trivia as well. About ten...

California Livin' Series: The Walking Dead Tours (Atlanta)

Image
Another edition of California Livin'! For reference, here are parts one , two , and three . This time we're going all the way across America to Atlanta, where the hit series The Walking Dead is filmed on location. Zombies bro, zombies !!!! The first stop on the tour is the town of "Woodbury," which is actually called Senoia, but they have some shops dedicated to the namesake. It's a little mountain town that's comparable to Oldtown Folsom, California. Note: the coffee at Walking Dead Cafe sucks. I think it's closed now actually. RIP. The soap store was closed when I went so no comment on that. They also have a Woodbury Museum downstairs to peruse after the tour. And now... the tour. This is "the wall" hiding the community of Alexandria. These are real houses in here, and I think they constructed them just for the show (wow). But no one lives in them. Well, there are four residents in the whole community but basically no one. ...
