Jimmy's Superb Subs (Elk Grove)

food: 4/5
experience: 4/5
overall: 4/5

Jimmy's used to be in another location in Elk Grove by my work but moved here several years ago. Since then they've built up a pretty good reputation as one of the best sandwich shops in the area. I had to stop by to try.

I usually don't eat sandwiches. I guess I don't consider them a dinner food. Or brunch. And those are my main two eating-out occasions so sandwich doesn't really come to mind, though I do have some bookmarked. Anyway. They bake their bread fresh and have hot and cold sandwiches along with Indian food, Mexican food, Asian food, and American food. The owner is Asian so I can see that but it's kinda weird to order ethnic food from a sandwich shop. So I didn't try any of that.

I opted for the hot and spicy chicken sandwich to start, which I guess is just like the marinated chicken sandwich but with jalapeƱos. I think the sandwiches are about eight inches long.

The bread is pretty good. Chicken is alright. Not a fan of the cheese though. It tastes like American. So I wouldn't get anything with cheese. Overall good but not outstanding. Or "superb".
