Papa Murphy's (Nationwide)
food: 2.5/5
experience: n/a take-out
overall: 2.5/5
Papa Murphy's sounds really good in theory. Pizza made fresh on site that you can take home and bake to your own liking? Pies starting at fifteen bucks? Coupons all over the damn place? Sign me up! Not.
It's just another case of "you get what you pay for" here. The crust, the truest representation of the quality of the pizza, is just weak. It's bad, guys. My family seems to enjoy it for its cheapness and the fact that well, it is still pizza after all. Chicken bacon artichoke is a favorite because it's on the "lite" menu.
The toppings are alright but honestly, if you can't get decent-tasting toppings that are in their simplest form (chicken, bacon, artichoke, cheese), what the hell are you doing running a business? Perhaps their stuffed crust would be tastier, so as to better mask the nasty crust flavor. Stuffed crust is just too much food for me to handle though.
They offer garlic bread as well (oops, "cheesy bread"), but it's made with the same blasé bread as the pizza crust. Bo-ring.
Papa Murphy's offers a s'mores pizza for dessert, of all things. I don't know about you but a pizza-shaped s'more just sounds absolutely disgusting and like complete overkill. I have not nor will not try this concoction but if you do, feel free to let me know how mediocre that is as well in the comments below.
