Mozzeria (Mission District)

Did you know there's a show on VICE called The Pizza Show? Actually, there isn't, but there used to be. And in one episode our very own Bay Area was covered. Mozzeria happened to be on the host Frank's radar. Perhaps because it's uniquely run by deaf people, or perhaps because it's simply good pizza.

No need to deck out your pizza with fancy toppings here. There's just a few to choose from and they're all delicious. We opted for the plain cheese for simplicity's sake, to get the most authentic flavor.

The cheese is all fancy cheese and it is delectable. The crust is pretty good too, floury, crisp, not thick but not cracker-thin either. This is some authentic Italian pizza for sure. And if it isn't it's a wonderful replica.

It's a little place but it's got character. I got a souvenir pen to show people I went there. It's my special pen. If I ever lose it I have to go all the way back to San Francisco for more pizza. Ugh.
